CD Reading Process for Monster Rancher 1

The game will read the following data from a CDROM:

• Total minutes and seconds
• Seconds of the first track
• Total number of tracks In addition to this, pregap is fixed at 2 seconds

The Main Breed is determined by the total minutes, of the CD and number of tracks it has.

1. First, if the total seconds are 58 or 59, add 1 to the minutes.
2. Then, convert the minutes to hexadecimal notation (16 for 9 minutes 59 seconds, 33 for 21 minutes 37 seconds).
3. Then subtract the total number of tracks from that value.

The sub breed determination and Stat Offsets are based on two different measurements

1. The first stat offset is from the total seconds on the disc.
2. The second stat offset (and sub breed) is from the seconds in the first track, or the starting position of the 2nd track.

However, if the total number of tracks is 1, the seconds of the first track are forcibly applied with 58 seconds (pure breed, no correction)

• When the total minutes, seconds, and seconds of the first track reach a certain value, a different monster is born.
• Monsters whose Main is Dragon or later, or whose Sub is ???, only appear from this point.
• This information is specific to Monster Farm 1 and is different in the English version of Monster Rancher 1.
