The second MR3 tourney, the Mayor's Cup, for Zans only[1st gen/no hearts allowed] ended up much like the first. Monster Fenrick's Retsu, Red Ranjr, swept through the tourney without losing a match, and was crowned Mayor's Cup champion. Here are the final standings...

No battle even went to a fifth match. So instead of an in-depth recap, here are some random notes from a fun tourney...

* In Red Ranjr's match against Rotasin, after taking a little time in the first battle [which ended in a 999 damage reverse raid] the next two battles were won in 2 seconds and 3 seconds. Quick KO's occurred throughout the night however - these two were slow compared to 2 Zibar axes ballet kos - one over Rotasin, one over Gaboera - which took 0 [zero!] seconds.

* The most interesting side note coming out of the event occurred in the 3d battle of the Gaboera/Zibar matchup. The match opened with each monster trying to hit each other with single shot. However, Zibar always "dodged" Gaboera's tries, while Gaboera always "blocked" Zibar's attempts. This is the first time I've seen the same tech being avoided in two different ways by two monsters of the same breed [Zibar is a Zan, while Gaboera is a Gai].

* Thinking of raising a Zan for a future tourney? Axes ballet, rising rave, reverse raid, and sonic knife were useful techs; assault dance, single shot and leg arc were not.
