A Suggestion For A New Guideline For Entries

DP was talking to me about some of the problems involved in tournament management, and one of them was memory card management for the tourney host. DP pointed out that people were submitting saves from wherever they happened to be on their cards. Once brought onto the host's card, via dex, the save would have the same save number as the original save.

Example: I raise a killer Springer, and save it on save 8 on my card. When DP gets it, it will become save 8 on his card. Which is fine, until 4 other people submit monsters on save #8, forcing him to either switch dex saves mid-tourney, or buy 4 memory cards.

Solution: When people set up tourneys, you could assign save #s to the slots you will have open. In other words, if you are doing a 10 Player Elimination, when you post a call for entries, or post a blank chart on your website for entries, specify that the #6 position will be held by a save on a #6 slot, #7 will be the first person sumbmitting a #7, etc.

Since all entrants own DexDrives, I don't think it's too much to ask people to juggle their cards a bit (saving data on the PC, clearing their card, and making multiple saves until they hit the desired numer) to help the tourney hosts. Hosts can do whatever they want, this is simply a suggestion to speed things up by fitting all entrants on one card.

This is an EXCELLENT Idea Lisa! of course, if one HAS a dexdrive, they should be able to arrange data however one wants to.

I'll do that with the next requests for submissions. (E-Mail me, I send a Block# back, Trainer sends back the monster on that save Block #)

And anyway, better for all contestants to juggle their saves opposed to leaving it to one person. I'm raising a Jilt so, maybe by the time I get a Dexdrive...
