Weird... I got a Mocchi from it...
??

By Monster Fenrick on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 - 03:29 pm:

i also want to add that when reading this data, the PS2 made a lot of clicking noises and took much longer than normal to read the CD.. Mike, did you experience something similar?

Anyone else getting other monsters as well?

By Silence on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 - 05:37 pm:

I got the Durhan.

I've also had the clicking and long read going to a Mocchi problem.
It occured with all the CDs burned on an external writer I borrowed back when I was doing MR2 cds. All of those CDs worked with MR2, but none of them have worked with MR3.

By MikeSugs on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 - 06:50 pm:

No, my PS2 read it like it was a normal CD. If was like I just inserted a normal CD...

Hmm...more mysteries...

Well, this is why I posted this message with a warning. So few burned codes work with MR3, I wanted to be sure before recommending it.

John said he got the Durahan from it. I wonder if MR3 is more touchy about brands of CD, or brands of burner?

By MikeSugs on Saturday, January 19, 2002 - 06:59 am:

Hmm... I got a Durahan from another CD that I just shrined. If you want me to post the code, tell me... I wasn't sure if I should because you already posted one. ^_^

I've been trying to burn myself a copy of the Pandora disc using CloneCD, but no such luck. I did happen to notice something strange though. My boyfriend burnt me a cd ( Prime Perheipals CD-R 700MB) and my PS2 was able to read it like a regular music cd (a Final Fantasy soundtrack compilation that gave me a tiger).

Now here's the weird thing, I just tried to make a copy of the pandora disc using a CD-R ( the brand was Memorex, 700MB )and it just gave me a mocchi. I'm still not adept at using the CloneCD program, so maybe I just messed up, but still I'm wondering if Miss Lisa is right about it being just the brand... Argh, I plan to get a Prime Preheprials brand CD-R sometime soon and test this.

By Lisa Shock on Thursday, January 31, 2002 - 03:34 pm:

Some models of burner don't seem to be compatible, and some brands of CD don't seem to work. However, since I don't have a burner, I am simply repeating comments made by others with real-life experience.

John, or Fenrick can probably help you more than I...

By Monster Fenrick on Thursday, January 31, 2002 - 04:07 pm:

Hi Rin, burning this Durahan was the first time i had ever had any CloneCD problems, and i still don't know why I cannot get a Durahan from it.

As far as your Pandora disk problems, I would suggest several other things first:

1) Do you have MR2 and have you been succesful at burning the subcode for it?
-- (yes) ok, at least you have the burning part down)
-- (No) You may be burning the code incorrectly, if you have MR2, try burning monster codes for this as practice since the PSX seems less picky

2)The most common problem people have is they go through all the trouble of the CloneCD process and edit the image.ccd file.. when they burn the CD it gives them a Choice
Correct choice: KEEP TOC as on source, write until end of image file.
Incorrect Choice: Modify TOC to image file.

If you Modify, you have defeated the whole purpose of editing the image.ccd file.
---------------------------
I hope this helps, and maybe the information above this line should be moved to the Laboratory FAQ too, for future reference.

Thank you for the tips Miss Lisa and Mr. Fenrick!

I'll be sure to practice this on MR2. Ahaha... I've been trying for the past half-hour... May as well give this Pandora thing one last shot before going back to the PSX ^_^;
