Monster Rancher Metropolis: The Laboratory: Technical Research On The Monster Rancher CD Read Process: General Q & A: Just a little mystery for those interested By Enigma on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 - 04:26 pm:
I had attempted to make a backup of my MR1 game, but instead ended up with a coaster (again) that gives me a pure Hare in MR1, and something requiring authorization in MR2. I finally beat the big 4 in MR1 last night, haven't spent hardly any time on MR2 yet (only up to Feb 1001), so I don't know how good of a rare it might be, if it even is all that rare. By Christopher on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 12:44 pm: I'd be interested in trying it out, so post the data. I've unlocked every breed except Jill, Joker, and Zilla, so I'll probably be able to get it. By Enigma on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 07:56 pm: Alright, it's in the next post. Let me know what it gives ya in both MR1 and MR2. Hopefully I grabbed it correctly. CloneCD locked when it was finished making the Image.img file, forcing a reboot, so both the image.img and image.sub files ended up empty, but the .ccd file looks to be complete. [CloneCD] By Lisa Shock on Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 10:20 am: You can't play copies of PSX games in the PSX (without a modchip), they designed the software to changed subtly when copied. By Enigma on Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 06:34 pm: This is a true and well-known observation, which has not gone beyond my notice. Hence the reason I have a "game enhancer" device which includes mod-chip functionality. But alas, not all CD-R's, CD-recordable drives, and CD burning programs are created equally, hence the prevalence of coasters on my desktop, amongst the rare few backups that actually work. But I figured that these discs may have a life beyond holding my cup, so I was curious as to what this one in particular produces in MR2.
