Not suitable for European users...? Are you sure?

Monster Rancher Metropolis: The Laboratory: Technical Research On The Monster Rancher CD Read Process: General Q & A: Not suitable for European users...? Are you sure?

I noticed a message at the top of the subcodes topic for MR2 which states that the information is intended for the North American version...however, I own a copy of Monster Rancher - the European version. Granted, I have only tried three of the subcodes (Golem/Golem, Gali/Gali and Joker/???) but they all worked. Is this message more of a warning, telling gamers not to rely on their working, or is this supposed to be actual fact? I'm going to try some more in the meantime to doublecheck but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

It's a warning. The Euro version was localized by a different company and they used different CDs for the Rares and the like. Some will work, more won't.

Ahh. So I shouldn't automatically assume all will work. Thanks for the heads up!

For the PAL game, the subcode for the each of the purebreeds and rares was chosen by SCEE, the company localizing the game based upon CDs that were available in Britain.

In a few cases, it appears that they left in the North American localized programming for NTSC/NA game's pures and rares, while adding their own to the list. But, SCEE's intention was for PAL users to find music CDs and PSX games in their own personal collections to make these monsters, not to rely on American imports. -Much in the same way that Tecmo US localized the NA game to use American games and music, and how most JP CD lists are useless for the NTSC/NA game.

There used to be PAL sites with CD lists and subcodes, but they are long gone.
