Maximum Stats (and how to get there)

Monster Rancher Metropolis: My Monster Rancher Archive (Andriod): Miscellaneous Q&A (Post New Questions Here): Maximum Stats (and how to get there)

The game currently has a maximum monster level of 25, apparently - exactly 8400 total points.

Achieving this maximum is relatively easy if you're patient and have access to Level 4 of Goat Coast adventure. Completing this level nets a monster 40 points in a random* stat for one weeks' worth of lifespan when random battles are avoided. To always succeed in Goat Coast (except for the occasional battle), your monster should have at least 350 in each stat, which is the minimum necessary to succeed if that stat is chosen as the "test." I've found that battles against a Lessie Orca seem to occur 2-4 times each year (2-4 times out of 48).

It's possible that adventuring reduces lifespan, but I've seen no evidence of that - my pure Lesione has adventured every week and is still in the "adult" phase at 2 years, 1 month, 1 week.

Anyway, if we assume that you breed a monster that starts off with exactly 350 in each stat, you should have a running shot of maxing out - you need 6300 total points, or 158 weeks. If we assume 44 weeks a year of stat gain (with the remainder as random encounters), that's in the neighborhood of 3 years, 6 months, 2 weeks.

I'd recommend starting with a stronger monster if at all possible. First, I don't know that all monsters live that long without peaches. Second, I don't know with certainty that adventuring every week doesn't affect lifespan. Finally, training takes a while in real time - I'm assuming that most people will only be able to send their monster out 2-3 times a day, max. Each year of life for your monster, then, will take between 16 and 24 days of real time.

* The stat gain seems to be random - my Lesione started with between 700 and 800 in each stat and ended with 1321, 1432, 1465, 1387, 1439, 1356. I would guess that those differences aren't statistically significant, but I haven't formally tested it.

That's some good information. How did you find out the max stat/level, have you actually hit it or did you get into the code somehow?

By mongooseroar on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 - 09:34 pm:

I hit it - the monster won't gain stats beyond 8400 points (trying to train returns an error message and the monster returned from adventure having gained 24 points in a stat instead of the 40 it usually awards). One of my neighbors has a frozen level 25 that I used to verify the 8400 total stat number.

Ah. Out of curiosity, does it hit level 25 at 8400 points or is that beyond the level-up threshold? Also, have you seen monsters getting level-up techniques beyond level 12?

By mongooseroar on Thursday, May 3, 2012 - 06:41 am:

At 8400 points. I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen any level up techs after level 12.

OK... So...

...how exactly do you actually get monsters born with 350+ in all stats then? :|

lol I really wish people would come up with the 'raising method' 'walkthroughs' for this game, such as the fastest way to get to Breed Rank 36 (to unlock Goat), and how to eventually reach the maxxed range; much like how in MR2 there were cash-monster methods, then the NO/ML methods, until it all boils down to the 4th week method of maxxing out.

The whole section needs work. People need to remember that the game wiki won't always be there.
