Pre-Order Punch Card Get!

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher DS Archive (DS): Japanese DS Games Archive: Monster Farm DS: Misc. Q&A (post all new topics here, we'll make more sections later): Pre-Order Punch Card Get!
By GM on Monday, July 16, 2007 - 01:04 pm:

I've got the game, and it came with the pre-order punch card!
Thanks, Play-Asia!

Now, how the heck do I use it? It came with instructions. I think I
can follow them. Let me know exactly how to go abouts it when
you can, Lisa!

If your games don't have the punch card, I can scan the instructions
later.

On an unrelated note, it appears that there's actually a THIRD new
breed in MFDS. But it's silhouette'd on the back of the box.

As soon as mine arrives, i'll let you know if I got the card or not. Feel free to email me a scan of it.

I think I've got the gist of it. Whilst doodle shrining, you place the
punch card on top of the DS' touch screen, the main hole
positioned right over the center of the drawing grid. The card is
made to accomodate both the DS and the DS Lite by vertically
flipping it accordingly.

You're basically supposed to fill in the holes in a certain pattern.
Either that or you can try a different combination of holes. But
apparently the middle one is always supposed to be there.

Right now, I can't use it because the monster(s) it yields are locked.

I'd appreciate a scan, I didn't get the card.

By Lisa Shock on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 08:11 pm:

I just got mine. I'll post a scan soon.

By Lisa Shock on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 12:02 pm:

Scan may not work well, it's a small clear plastic card like a mini credit card. Dunno how well clear scans...

By GM on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 02:59 pm:

You could put a small paper cutout on the back of it.

By ChetFlavin on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 03:41 pm:

Or just trace the card and pattern onto paper.

I remember cards that I had punched out holes in Spectrobes for rare monsters. I guess they work the same.

This image is from the official site. At the bottom the card is shown on the DS itself and you can see where the holes line up to the grid. I used this image to get my special Abisu.

Of course, now that we have images from the guide that show some uses of the card, it's not all that necessary, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
