I cant login to monster farm online... can anyone help me? please...

By SilverTwilight on Thursday, March 20, 2008 - 07:54 pm:

Are you running Easy2Game or VPN? There is an IP ban in place, so that only those accessing the game from a japanese server can play.

After that, you'll need to set your game's resolution one step down from your desktop, and then make sure that your graphics card meets the requirements of the game (listed on the mfo site).

By starbomb178 on Thursday, March 20, 2008 - 09:13 pm:

i dont know what is Easy2game or VPN...hehe..im a little new at running japanese online games...

By starbomb178 on Thursday, March 20, 2008 - 09:16 pm:

there is also an error message that kept showing up after i type in my username aND password and wont log in...

By Lisa Shock on Friday, March 21, 2008 - 09:23 am:

You need to run separate software to mask your IP address and fake the servers into thinking that you are in Japan. You need Easy2Game or VPN running before you start the MF:O software.

By starbomb178 on Friday, March 21, 2008 - 06:08 pm:

im confused, i went to www.easy2game.com and googled it and yahooed it,, i just cant seem to download? or run easy2game.... and also i created a new connection (VPN of course.. and cant seem to connect.) as a source i also googled it, yahooed it and just cant download the software even if it is free..i need to be a member but most of them are universities in america.... all helps are appreciated Tnx, im pretty flexible to computers but this is the first time i have ever encountered and planning to run server related softwares so I have no ideas, but thanks though Lisa and Silver

By starbomb178 on Friday, March 21, 2008 - 06:39 pm:

Okay... i managed to create an account at easy2game.com, what would i do next?

By Lisa Shock on Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 10:02 am:

I dunno. I installed VPN and can only stay in the game for about two minutes at a time.

By starbomb178 on Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 04:31 pm:

I was wondering Lisa, How come everytime I install a VPN connection always a failure?, I always dont know which IP address to put and what username and password to enter, can you or anyone give me a guide cuz' Im a complete "DUH!" at this, thanks!...

By SilverTwilight on Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 08:10 pm:

Try this thread: https://www.onrpg.com/boards/62115.html

By starbomb178 on Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 11:18 pm:

Nope, mine says the network cable is unplugged.... i cant somehow connect it... is there any alternatives? thank you

By The Letter B on Sunday, March 23, 2008 - 06:18 pm:

These are my settings. https://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k30/benork/VPNsettings.jpg After going through the onrpg boards at first I was getting disconnected a lot too Lisa, but then I came across someone else who was having the same problem and someone suggested these settings and they've worked very well so far.

By starbomb178 on Sunday, March 23, 2008 - 09:55 pm:

uhh, nope, doesnt work but thanks for the suggestion though...i guess i have to try something else...

By The Letter B on Monday, March 24, 2008 - 07:37 am:

You should have enabled your VPN client adapter which you must've done to see the "network cable is unplugged" message and then you right-click on the VPN icon on the taskbar and go to Start VPN Connection and pick the one you've setup.

By starbomb178 on Monday, March 24, 2008 - 10:07 pm:

I well, i dont have a VPN adapter, i connect only through modem/lan so i have to try something else, sorry for the troubles....

By SilverTwilight on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 09:55 am:

I connect through a modem, too, and you can set up your VPN adapter by following the directions from that onrpg.com thread I posted. I think the instructions you need are on pg 1 and pg 9 or 10

By starbomb178 on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 07:45 pm:

finally!!! yeah!!!!!! thank you silver, B and lisa!! i'm gonna check it out for myself right now!! :D

By starbomb178 on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 07:56 pm:

i am now connected but there is another error message, i cant somehow translate it, can anyone help/tell me what is wrong this time? thank you!

By spookychee on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 11:40 pm:

Please take a screenshot of the error message and we can translate it for you.

here is the link: https://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?image=26562899qb1.jpg

By starbomb178 on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 - 02:40 am:

But im pretty sure it is about a problem and undergoing maintenance that users may not login or play, link:https://www.mf-online.jp/notice_maintenanceview.aspx?seq=64&page=0

By spookychee on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 - 02:44 am:

The error message that you posted is just symbols, it's not Japanese. You might need to install Japanese support.

The notice from the official site just says that there is a bug in the game that may cause food to spoil when you move from your farm to the town.

By NintendoFanBoy on Monday, April 7, 2008 - 09:14 am:

i have the same problem. i have tried to fix it for months. i still can't get it to work. i need help as well. my brother plays mfo and is not willing to help me.

By Ruby Wish on Monday, April 7, 2008 - 04:05 pm:

I have helped you! Stop making lies to gain sympathy!

By Ruby Wish on Monday, April 7, 2008 - 04:20 pm:

i mean he has

By NorseFTX on Monday, April 7, 2008 - 05:50 pm:

I'm not sure what problem you might be having;
I've been using the VPN client (English version) with the settings by TheLetterB posted earlier in this thread, and I've got them working fine.

The fact that the login menu disappears and nothing happens might indicate some problems with video display or something for your computer (what's your CPU RAM? And what's your video card? You can check RAM by right clicking on "My Computer" and choosing "Properties")

By starbomb178 on Thursday, April 10, 2008 - 04:00 pm:

maybe i think it is because i installed it without Japaneses fonts, could that be the problem?

By SilverTwilight on Thursday, April 10, 2008 - 05:44 pm:

No, if you didn't have Japanese fonts installed all that would happen is that instead of kana and kanji, you'd see lots of random letters and boxes.

By starbomb178 on Saturday, April 12, 2008 - 09:03 pm:

i dont understand, all my requirements pass, what gives?

By Subster on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 - 04:52 pm:

I dunno :/ but im still stuck on registration, when i type in username no matter whether in katakana or english im always getting the red msg :(
Last week of school then i'm going to spend more time on figuring this out :/

By NorseFTX on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 - 05:59 pm:

OH! I actually had the same problem--
The issue with my username is that you're NOT allowed to use capital letters in a password OR username.
That's kind of a strange rule, so it took a while for me to figure it out...XP

By NintendoFanBoy on Friday, April 18, 2008 - 12:53 pm:

Does the ATI graphics card work with MFO? That is what I use.

By SilverTwilight on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 11:47 am:

I think it depends, I was using a different graphics card before, and while it would let me into the game, it would not let me into the town and would shut down/freeze

By DarkHawk on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 02:12 pm:

I would like to thank Lisa, LetterB and Spooky first off for showing me how to get onto MFO. It took a little doing, as i havn't played Japanese MMOs before so it was a new networking experiance, but the combined information and suggestions got me online and playing with-in an hour.

By starbomb178 on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 06:35 pm:

maybe i am just plain unlucky.... all req passed but no game.... I GIVE UP!!! i have been trying to make it work for months!

By DarkHawk on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 09:18 pm:

Never give up, Never surrender! lol.

Well star, try starting over and double checking all you tools and settings.

First uninstall your current copy of the game.

Regional language uni-codes under your control panel - Regional and Langs. In the advanced tab, make sure it's set to japanese (If not, set it and reset your box)(( may require you to input your Windows disc for language codes))

Don't reinstall MFO until you've checked more stuff.

Then get your VPN Tool up and running properly.
- I am using PacketiX VPN Client Manager Ver. 2
(this is the program that LetterB posted an image of)
- Go with this VPN because we KNOW it works for this.
- With this VPN when you install and load you'll be givin a split screen, the top frame has a "Make new connection" activate that. It may ask you to create a VPN adapter is you don't have one installed, do that.
- Next when creating the connection use the following settings.
- Destination VPN Server box put
Host Name:vpn.mobilefree.jp
Port: 443
Virtual Hub Name: GUEST
- User Authentication setting
Pull down to "Anonymous Authentication"
Username: GUEST
Then finialize your setup.

Now install MFO

Don't forget to try your logon username and password on the MFO website, if they fail their get another account registered.
Thats all i got.

By starbomb178 on Sunday, April 20, 2008 - 04:44 am:

well i suppose i will give it a try.... the thing is i dont have Japanese font and i dont have my cd with me... is still ok? thanks for the help darkhawk!! hehe, if this works,.... you are my HERO!!!! Thnx so much!!

By NintendoFanBoy on Sunday, May 18, 2008 - 01:54 pm:

I finally did it! The game now works for me! I am so happy right now!

By SilverTwilight on Sunday, May 18, 2008 - 06:02 pm:

Good for you! I am unfortunately having some trouble with my computer completely shutting down on me when I try to play some big games...but it tends to do that from time to time, so its a problem on my end.

Go and have fun!

By MothBoy on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 - 05:48 am:

I'm running into some trouble with MFO as well. I downloaded the Japanese text ie_ja.exe so I can see characters correctly. And I found a site to download VPN. I have Softether VPN 2.0 and I got it to run off the information given by DarkHawk. And I have an account that works on the MFO site. And I downloaded and installed MFO.

I get one of two errors when trying to connect to MFO.

https://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn176/alternativemoth/Error.jpg

And I tried it without having VPN running and I get

https://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn176/alternativemoth/Error2.jpg

I don't know what either of these are saying, so I don't know what either of these are telling me. So I can't assess what's wrong. So if anyone could help, that would be grand.

By Zercker on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 08:40 am:

im having the same problems as the guy above

By MothBoy on Friday, August 1, 2008 - 12:03 pm:

Holy crap I got it to work. Thanks Zercker. The changing the resolution was the final step I needed... Now if I only knew Japanese or what any of these buttons means.

By Zercker on Sunday, August 3, 2008 - 12:03 pm:

Lol your welcome you will eventually figure it out

By SilverTwilight on Sunday, August 17, 2008 - 02:50 pm:

After a long hiatus (in which my old computer was rendered unusable) I am back and trying to play again. Unfortunately, I can only just get into the Town Server, walk a few steps, and then the game client has an error and shuts down. Anyone else have this problem (or even a solution?)

By Zercker on Monday, August 18, 2008 - 12:32 pm:

hmm havent been on in a few days ill check to see if it happens to me

By SilverTwilight on Monday, August 18, 2008 - 05:51 pm:

Ok, I don't know how I managed this, but I accidentally deleted my character. Upon creating a new character and meeting my helper for the first time, the game kicks me out as soon as I try to scroll through the text. A reboot, re-installation, and new character creation didn't help at all.

By Thorr on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - 07:06 am:

(You do know that the notion of 'facepalm' is putting your palm in someone else's face and not your own, right? 'Talk to the hand!')

By SilverTwilight on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - 08:06 am:

(I always thought it was smacking your own face/forehead, I guess you learn something new everyday ^_^; )

By Zercker on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 - 05:34 am:

that happened to me maybe its your graphics card that was my problem i put it on a different computer and it worked and i changed resolution to 800x600

By SilverTwilight on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 - 09:37 am:

I actually took the graphics card from my old computer (which ran the game well) and installed it in this one. Before I did this, all of the human models looked transparent.

I'll try playing with resolutions, though.

By SilverTwilight on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 - 05:21 pm:

Still no luck. With the updates from the last maintenance it takes longer for the error to occur (the program pauses for a bit before client.exe has its error), but still cannot play.

I'm going to try installing the game on another computer (if my brother will let me, that is)

By Zercker on Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 05:47 am:

k hope to see you in game some time

By SilverTwilight on Friday, August 22, 2008 - 09:15 pm:

New problem: installed/reinstalled game on a comp with Vista, now I can only run the launcher when it installs, and then can't open it ever again. Even when I tell the computer to 'allow' it (I added all of the relevant files to the 'allow' list)

Anyone else have problems with Vista not opening the game? (when I try to use the shortcut, it says it doesn't exist, and then doesn't allow me to use the actual client.exe file)

By Zercker on Saturday, August 23, 2008 - 07:15 am:

hmmm im using it on vista it took me awhile to get it to work cause i had to wait for the allow to come up

By SilverTwilight on Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 05:23 pm:

Ah, turns out there was a file missing, a repair with the setup prog fixed it. Back in the game and busy re-leveling my monster. Whew!

By Zercker on Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 05:40 pm:

lol what monster do you have ??? I have a Mocchi lvl6 a Pancho lvl 3 and another mocchi in a bathing suitlol

By SilverTwilight on Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 07:21 pm:

I went and got my rygar back (trying to turn him blue with food!). Already got him up to lvl 2, and he's learning techniques quickly (probably because I actually know how to play this time around).

Hey, has anyone figured out what those 'extra' moves are/how to use them? The ones that appear in the green/purple tabs of the moves list?

And...turns out the game only works on my brother's computer. Which he will be taking back to school in a week. Oh well. At least I can play a little bit before he leaves.

By Mirage on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - 04:05 pm:

im havin the same problem star was havin and nintendo boy... basically when i get into the log in screen and i click start or press enter...the game just disappears as if i pressed the exit button... i dont know what to do and i have tried almost everything... im at a loss

By Zercker on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - 05:18 am:

i think those extra moves are healing or can be used from two ranges just click on it and place it in a range and then you can use it
