Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 2 Archive (PSOne): Monster Types: Undine: Did anyone else laugh? By Tony on Friday, May 12, 2000 - 10:09 pm:
Did anyone besides me laugh when they saw the Undine they unlocked from the Undine Slate? "What horrible stats!" I told my brother-in-law, "She won't be worth a crap!!" I should be slapped and banned from playing MR2 after this. I just finished raising her, using Dark Phoenix method. When I first started using her on this method, she was 1 month old. I had brought her to the ranch for a month earlier. Why? I don't know. Anyway, here are some stats for the greatest monster to grace the presence of my ranch: By Lisa Shock on Saturday, May 13, 2000 - 11:45 am: Great info! I've always thought that raising techniques were as important, or more, than great starting stats. I recall a very old post by B. Campbell on the old board where he said he thought there was no such thing as a "best" monster. There are tricks to getting the best out of certain types of monsters, but the rancher's skill is the real key. By Tony on Saturday, May 13, 2000 - 02:25 pm: Some people can train certain types of monsters better than others. I have had little or no luck with Mocks, Suezo, & Katos to name a few, but I've done pretty well with Durahan's, Phoenix (Love those Garuda's!), Bajarl's, and now add Undine to the mix. I also would have to say that I agree with you in the fact that there is no "best" monster. I trained a pure hopper (which most people hate) to S Class, and it won 3 of the M4 and won Elder's Cup for me. Lived to over 6 yrs. old. Not too bad for a 1st gen Hopper in my book. By Kurasu Soratubo on Sunday, May 14, 2000 - 03:20 pm: A moment of silence for my first, and so far, only Undine. She got smooshed by Rockgeiger when she was just a young 'un, and didn't pull through. I actually hadn't planned to work on another one for a while, but seeing the progression of yours makes me tempted to! By torey_luvullo on Monday, May 15, 2000 - 04:58 am: i stupidly threw out my slate undine. luckily, i had crash bandicoot warped, and got my undine back by using the siren you get there in combos. By Tony on Monday, May 15, 2000 - 03:08 pm: What kind of Undine did you end up with, as far as stats? By torey_luvullo on Monday, May 15, 2000 - 04:46 pm: my undine born from combining a siren and a daina started with ~350 int, 100-200 everything else. ended up with 950 int, 900 ski and spd, and acceptable everything else; lived long enough to win a silver peach, also beat poritoka to go into the hall o fame. Incredibly enough, exactly 7 months later, I finished raising Ariel II, the 2nd generation to my Undine line. Needless to say, I haven't played much up until the past few days. Here's some vitals on Ariel II, who's sitting in the freezer until I find something that I can get a great/good combo out of:
END STAGE 1: 0 yrs. 10 mos.
END STAGE 2: 1 yr. 11 mos.
FREEZY POP: 4 yrs. 3 mos.
Ariel II received Golden & Silver Peach, and is another HOF'er for me. Here are her battle numbers: RECORD: 104-0 87 KO'S. Rest of victories were wimpouts. Also, was my 1st 100 battle winner. Won the Major 4 battles 4 times each, Hero Cup 3 times, Legend Cup over Poritoka, & Captained the IMa vs. FIMBA meet for a victory. PURSE: 232150G TRAINING METHOD: Nobody but "The Man's"! FINAL STATS: Permanant Freezy Pop at 6 yrs.
TOTAL POINTS: 4657 Not too shabby! I think I'm going to work on my Garuda project next, then I may get back to the Ariel family. Hard to say at this point. By Nate Railsback on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 - 03:27 pm: By Tony on Wednesday, December 13, 2000 - 07:11 am:
Meant to put that in there: By Nate Railsback on Wednesday, December 13, 2000 - 02:48 pm:
NOT BAD. I managed to get all techs with my last Undine, but your Ariel's stats trump my Evian's by about 150 in all stats (except Life and Power, where mine is a little stronger). A fight between the two would be an outstanding match-up.
