Battle Specials are still in the game, and Grit (or whatever the translators will call it) is definitely back. I have been in tourneys several times now where I have KO's a monster and it came back with one life point. Overall, while the text goes by awfully fast, it appears that they seem to be a lot more like MR2 Battle Specials than the MR3 type. I haven't seen anything like 'stunned' or 'shrunken'.
