I shrined some discs last night, and here are some results. (I won't post the names of my region 1 DVDs since most MF4 players aren't in the US and don't have access to them.)

MF1 makes a rare that is a DINO! It's called Dino and looks like it, with a more subdued, darker color scheme!

That's what I have seen so far. I will most more types as I see them.

*These are Japanese mini-CD singles of songs from the MF anime series.

The Garu/Ripper sounds awesome. The gremlins were so cool, especially the little fuzzy one. A Dino AND Zuums?!...that's just crazy...

Is the dino just a zumm that looks like a dino or is it a breed in itself like the ape escape apes?

I would love to see the Ripper/Durahan.

But overgrown lizards and barneys are in the same game? Where's an Asteroid when u need'em?

It's a Zuum rare, Zuum/?, so it's really just a Zuum sub-type, but they took the time to make it look like a 3D rendered version of the MR1 Dino. It has the smooth/rounded (no spikes or frills) head, the darker scales on the top of the head/neck/back/tail, the larger/heavier body of a Dino. I know it's not as exciting as having a whole main breed of Dinos, but I hope it pleases some fans.

BTW, I suggested this monster (a Dino as a Zuum rare) to Tecmo Japan directly in a teleconference call in late 2001. It was right around the time that MR1 was about to have its 5th anniversary, and I pointed out that fans who played the original deserved to get something extra for sticking with the series for so long.

I am amazed that Dino's back. Any form of Dino is good enough for me :P

I want to get a dino *sobs* but i don't have monster farm 1 :P as for monster farm 3 haven't tested it yet again since my friend in tokyo borrowed my game last week :P will be able to test it next week :P

don't u notice that you can't get any mocchi from any of your CDs yet. If you try it would be locked. A reason for this is that you need to finish a storyline before you could unlock them :) in one of my CDs I was hoping to get a rare but upon finishing the mocchi storyline all I got was a Gelatine :D

Yeah, so far I the only monster I have found twice is pure Joker.
Today I shrined:

Mogi/Suzurin (a girl dog with brown hair and a flower on top of the cap)
Plant/CP (odd)
Hare/CP (odd, just odd)
Garu/Naga (very dark and cool looking)
Beaclon/Ducken

The Beaclon/Ducken is pretty wild. It's still an incredibly weird monster, for those who have played MR2. But, this time, in addition to having the wind-up key on its back, it has a clear cover over the back which lets you sort of see a bunch of gears working inside. Very detailed animation on this one.

So far, CP subs are the oddest/dumbest looking monsters....

hmmm i still have to find a zan and a psi-roller :P

as for the beaclon/ducken hehehe its a bit cute :P heheh with the horn of the beaclon as the head of a ducken :D

Wait a second...how did you get Jokers, Lisa? Do you have to unlock them or are they available from the start?

Is there any word on the Ape Escape Monkey's availability in Mf4/Mr4 by means if gamers can use them (if there are more Monkeys which I doubt it) from the get go? I forgot if it was already covered since I am behind with my MR info :P

yes there's an Ape Escape Monkey I'm currently using one as my pet :P i got it from the Ape Escape 2 game of my friend. i posted a link somewhere here as to the screenshots that i took.

as for joker i guess they are avaible from the start since i popped up my Love Hina - Silent Eve CD and got a joker from it when slating became possible for me (at Rank E) :)

....Jokers are common, but you have to unlock Mocchis? This is getting weirder and weirder.

Yeah, I got Jokers from my 1984 (John Hurt, Richard Burton version released in 1984) DVD, and disc 1 of Catch Me if You Can WS edition.

How good are jokers and mocchis in mf4/mr4? Because you
have to unlock mocchi but jokers are available any time
you can shrine a monster. What other monsters do
you have to unlock? And if you find any doodles, can you

MONSTER FARM 4 Monster LIST

Zuum/Baku Looks just like Hachiro

Zuum/Gitan A purple Zuum with dark eyes and spikes on it's tail.

Tiger/Not sure... Looks really evil. Half of it's body is grey the other half red and black. Has very evil face and long twisted horns.

Tiger/Zan Very cool looking. Black with red eyes, looks armored and has blades on all his feet and tail.

Hare/Golem A Hare made of rock with yellow eyes.

Hare/Pancho A Hare in a green suit wearing a pumkin on his face and waste....

Dragon/Naga Purple Dragon with a Naga face and chest. Pretty cool looking.

Dukken/Pancho Dukken made of pumkins... go figure.

Durahan/Suzurin Very ugly Durahan with pink/white armor. Has gold helm, shield, hands and feet.

Naga/Ripper My first monster to raise, cause he's just that cool looking. White and purple with black face and belly. Also has spikes. Very cool.

Antlan/Pixie Pink Antlan with white trim. Heart designs.

Antlan/Zan Black Antlan with red trim. Red eyes and big evil grin.

Garu/Mocchi Pink Garu with green hair and chest/back.

Madillo/Ripper White Madillo with purple spikes.

Madillo/Mocchi Pink Madillo with Green armor.

Ripper/Hare Brown Ripper with fur and long ears.

Ripper/Lesione A blue Ripper with a Lesione head.

Golem/CP A big green Golem made of CPs...

Zuum/Dragon Just like the pictures.

Plant/Pixi Just like you think it would look.

Jell/Plant A Jell that's green and red colored.

Garu/Tiger A Garu that's blue and white and has horns.

Personally, I'd like to see that Golem/CP

I took a picture, but I don't have a place to post it so if you want I can e mail it to you.

Oh, and by the way That Tiger I couldn't tell what the sub breed was was a Tiger/Joker I think.

I just shrined some more tonight. The most notable being:
*Mew/Baku: looks like Lambchop, very cute

Zuum/Psiroller: psiroller colored with a few stripes, some make a necktie, it has a tricertops beak-type mouth, a two horns on its nose (one big and a tiny one behind it), and a three-horned frill at the back of its head. It's a cool fantasy dinosaur!

Naga/Plant: Head like a Venus Flytrap, including the flat mouth and tentacle teeth. No eyes. Yes, no eyes. Has a flowery ruffle at the base of the neck, some small spikes on the tail, and a mostly green color scheme. This is one of the weirdest monsters I have ever seen.

Jell/Joker: It's just grey wisps like smoke, as if all that existed were the thin strips of color on a normal jell. It has the ball heart. In view mode, when you make it run, it makes itself into a figure like a chicken with bicycle wheels. An homage to the Doodle perhaps....

I'll post a longer list of everything I have so far, tomorrow.

i saw from a japanese site that the MR2 CD contains the onichi (rare mocchi) from what i think of the name i think it means Demon Mocchi (Oni = demon/devil) don't know yet will try to see where I could borrow a monster farm 2 CD :)

just a little shrining question, Lisa I remember you saying something about shrining more than one disc at a time, have any of you who are playing MF4 tried that yet?

was able to shrine MF3 yesterday. it was a big let down though. all i got was a mocchi/dukken from it not a rare one :(
