Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 1 Archive (PSOne): Miscellaneous Q&A (Post New Questions Here): Does "form" have much influence on your monster? By Anonymous on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 05:13 pm:
I saw in you item value list that things like candy and herb affect a monsters "form". I was just wondering if the form really affects how the monster preforms. Or if it affects the life span. By Lisa Shock on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 11:29 pm: It affects how quickly they can dodge in battle, and how much damage they take. Thinner monsters dodge better, but get hurt more when hit. Heavier monsters can't dodge as well, but don't get hurt as much when hit. By Golem Fist on Monday, April 22, 2002 - 04:00 pm: actually it's good to keep monsters at "normal" By Omni Strunks on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 - 07:01 am: Technically, no GF. Using strategy, form can be a great advantage...especially in online tournaments! By AgMasamu on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 - 07:38 am: IIRC, the way it affects Speed/Defense is percentage-based. So, an overweight Pixie (with high Speed and low Defense) will lose a LOT of Speed and almost NO Defense. By Velo on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 - 02:20 pm: Giving away our secrets SSJ? -_- By Eagle Fierce on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 - 08:51 pm: That's what we're here for Velo. By ToadoTheGreat on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 04:38 pm: Hey, I just fought 2 worms with 999 power, 999 def and 1 spd. One was extremely fat, one was extremely skinny. The damage that they did to each other was exactly the same, so I don't think that weight has any affect in battle. I think thats just in MR2. By mepersoner on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 07:12 am: The effect of form increasing speed/defense is only in MR2 - it was never confirmed for MR1. In MR1 it just effects how the monster looks to my knowledge, of course I don't believe much research has been done on the subject. By Tararara on Sunday, March 6, 2005 - 10:51 am:
It would help explain why my skinny Angel dodged FAR more often then other monsters I've raised, though.
