Whoa! Good work, Lisa! But I'm just curious... I noticed that 'meat' actually adds +1 week of lifespan to your monster, by these numbers. Is that +1 mis-placed? Or is it actually proven that meat'll add a week to your monster every time you feed it?

If so, my monsters are going to start living a long, looooong time, with all the money I've got stowed up. Ten-year song, here I come!

Very observant Kurasu! That is not a typo. As DP opined in chat last week, the DP method here would be raise only in week 4, feed 2 mint & 2 taffy, and give meat as food. (Note that most items have set values instead of percentages like in MR2.) My suggestion would be to always feed meat, but wait until prime for the week 4 only part -getting in a few trips for techs beforehand. Then I'd still go for techs, every once in a while, simply to see if a completely trule maxxed out monster is possible.

Also, please note that this chart disproves other theories, like that apple cake increases lifespan -it does not.

All data was gathered from my Japanese book which was authorised by Tecmo.

By Aires on Monday, April 30, 2001 - 10:43 am:

uhhh here goes again, what is form???

By Dark Phoenix on Monday, April 30, 2001 - 11:49 am:

Form refers to how fat/thin the monster is. Generally, the higher the Form value, the fatter your monster is. In MR1, form is not listed on the data sheet. However, you can still get an idea. Just look at your monster closely in View mode from time to time.

Fear is one of two values that average together to determine loyalty. One value is Fear (basically how much fear and respect your monster has for you) and Spoil (how affectionate your monster is toward you). Note that you will NOT see these two values directly in the game. Your raising style does hint at how much your monster has of each. Basically, if your style is leaning to the strict side, then Fear is higher. If Spoil is higher, your style will lean towards, well, guess....

To get these books, have a friend who is a Japanese native visit some used book stores in Japan, and them bring them back when they return. Be prepared to pay a high price plus tarriffs, and take them out to eat in a nice restaraunt as payment!
