Some monsters are available from the beginning of the game, others must be earned through game play.

Ape: Explore the Hartville Jungle and look for a Magic Banana. Then you need to spoil two monsters and freeze them. Combine them using the Magic Banana. Once you have made an Ape, you will have access to the rare Apes, /??? subs, on CDs.

Dino: Available from the beginning from CD or at the Market.

Disk: Available from the beginning, on the rare types, /??? subs are available on CD.

Doodle: Raise a pure monol (monol/monol) until it's fame is at least 80. Have the monster compete in a low-level tournament or two until the Fame is less than 65. This creates a Scribble. Combine any monster with a Scribble to make a Doodle. Once you have made a Doodle, they will be available from CDs.

Dragon: In the 4th week of April compete in the B level Trial Cup. One of the 3 opponents will be a Dragon. Win this tournament. Now you need to beat the official Level B Cup so that your monster is at A rank. After that you will be invited to compete in a once a year Level A Cup in the 4th Week of August. This will be a one on one battle against a Dragon. When you win you will receive the "Dragon Tusk" item. You will then need to combine a Stinger (Naga/Dino) and a Grape (Dino/Naga)with the Dragon Tusk to make your first Dragon. After that, the rare Dragons, /??? subs are available on CD.

Gali: Available from the beginning from CD.

Ghost: Wait till a monster dies. You can give it a funeral if you like or not, the outcome will not be affected. Get a new monster from the shrine. Thawing a frozen monster will not work. Then enter the next official E cup battle with your new monster. Win this and you will have a 1 in 16 chance of getting that monster cursed. (If it is cursed there will be a mark on it and Holly will comment on it.)If your monster was cursed then combinine him with any other monster to get a ghost. Once you have made a Ghost this way, the rare types, /??? subs are available on CD.

Golem: Available from the beginning from CD.

Hare: Available from the beginning from CD.

Henger: (You may need to use several monsters to complete this process!) Find each of the four Doll Pieces (R & L Arm, R & L Leg) during Reno Expeditions. Get any monster to Class A, your monster will be invited to the Winter Invitational Tournament. Win this tournament and you will get the Doll Head as the prize.
The five pieces will put together for you and you will get the Clay Doll. Take an intelligent monster carrying the Clay Doll (Intelligence of 600+) to the Reno Expedition to read the obelisk. (A large obstruction blocks the obelisk. It is extremely useful to have a high POW monster visit sometime before and clear this aside, this is one of the toughest items to clear away.) A circular mark will appear on the monster if it is sucessful at reading the Stone Tablet. Freeze this monster immediately (don't risk it dying) with any other monster using the clay doll to make a Henger. Once you have made a Henger the rare types, /??? subs, will be available on CD.

Jell: Available from the beginning from CD.

Magic: Find the Old Mirror in the Titus Expedition.
Use the Old Mirror when combining a Gali and a Monol. Once you have made a magic they will be available from CD.
(The game will explain the process if you do the following, but it is not required. Get any monster to A Class. Your monster will be invited to the Gold Cup Tournament. Win this tournament and you will learn the secret of breeding a Magic Monster.) After this, you can get the rare, /??? subs from CD.

Monol: Available from the beginning. You can make a scribble (monol/???) by raising a monol's fame over 80 then dropping it (by competing in a low-level tourney) to under 65. When you return to the ranch, there will be graffitti on the monol and it will have transformed into a scribble. (used to make a doodle)

Naga: Available from the beginning from CD.

Nya: Explore the Titus temple and find a "Cat Doll", or wait for the item shop to start selling them. Combine any two monsters and use the Cat Doll. Once you have made a Nya, the rare types, /??? subs, are available on CD.

Plant: Available from the beginning from CD.

Pixie: Available from the beginning from CD.

Suezo: Available from the beginning from CD or the Market.

Tiger: Available from the beginning from CD or the Market.

Worm: Available from the beginning from CD.
