Iron Heart in Antlan Subs

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher Advance Archive (GameBoy Advance): Shrine Topics: Iron Heart in Antlan Subs

I will admit right off that I have not tried every possible letter combination yet, however, so far I have shrined over 20 monsters and they follow this pattern:

If you use a 3 letter password, and the second and third characters are "ow", in that order, you will get and Atlan sub (we aleady knew about the subs part from prior work), and it will have "Iron Heart".

Adding a character, or a space from the board, after the first three, will often make an Antlan sub, but the "Iron Heart" will be gone.

It's just one more small clue about the shrine formula.

Interesting. Have you tried any other such combinations? If not, I may look into it along with my own experiments.

Sorry, never got around to doing a lot of testing on this. IIRC, MR3 tournaments were taking up a lot of our time at that point in history.

I'll have to play around with it then. ^_^

Password key:
` = space
^ = 8th note
@ = small circle
& = weird blob by small circle
[ = Japanese quote (opening)
] = Japanese quote (closing)
\ = centered dot

They all have the Octopee sub and Water Know (which I believe is Octopee's inherent trait, right?). Not only that, but all occurrences of the same main type have the same stats.

I went a step further and tested a number of passwords that matched first and third characters...

They all have Footwork. But when I played around some more...

[&]PixieMocchi861911331605582Soft Smell, Footwork

This time, only the last one has it. That may be because there's a programmed inability for Lesiones and Suezos to have Footwork, which makes sense since they don't have feet.

Good research! Thanks!

One interesting point I forgot to mention is that the main type granted by the first character (in the initial tests) is not the same as they type of monster given by that same character as a 1-length password.

By Sensei Le Roof on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 - 09:25 am:

I just did some number-crunching, running with the assumption that the single-character passwords provide baseline stats. All of those 3-letter passwords ending with two 8th notes provide +9 POW/DEF, +5 INT/SPD, +6 ACC and +1 LIF from the baseline stats.
