Monster Rancher Metropolis: The Cafe: Archived Topics From Prior Years: Year 2000 Topics (Year Of The Phoenix): Spinning Discs! By torey_luvullo on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 10:38 am:
something seems different about the site, but i cant quite put my finger on it...its...its... By Lisa Shock on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 11:23 am: I was looking at the software for the board, and commented to my husband that the old file folders were boring. He said "I can fix that", and asked if I had a GIF of the MR disc. I didn't, so I scanned a picture, he edited it (re-sized, changed colors, animated) and viola! The grapic is 1 KB larger than the old file folders, so it takes an insignificant half-second longer to load. By Eagle Fierce on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 03:36 pm: I like it! If gives a more professional look ^_^...o0(I'm also relieved that I can't chalk it up to my inability to notice detail. Wouldn't that be embarassing :P) By PixieMaster on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 03:43 pm: *Watches the spinning discs* "OoooH...AhhhH..Pixie like" ^_^ By CHB on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 03:49 pm: It is pretty sweet. Though it gave me one hell of a scare. Thought I had a virus or maybe Fatarse came for his revenge. By lovesaurian on Thursday, November 16, 2000 - 04:12 pm: This place can look soooo much more MR than the old board! Just what I needed after a hard evening of working on my Mother's DSL. By Fade X on Friday, November 17, 2000 - 12:46 am: Very cool. Just a suggestion though. If you put them into a table you can organize it so that the links are middle justified to the images. Currently they are Top Justified and it looks a little weird to me. Anyway keep up the great work! By Darkwing on Friday, November 17, 2000 - 08:27 am: Good job now the site lokks way better :) By cactusman on Sunday, November 19, 2000 - 09:36 am: By Richard Ryley on Monday, November 20, 2000 - 05:34 pm:
I was just going to say, I thought it was cool myself. Actually this whole site has a pretty design. By Lisa Shock on Monday, November 20, 2000 - 07:35 pm: Thanks for the compliment! I try to maintain a balance between good design, and speedy loading - all the while being as low-tech as possible. We have members with really old systems using the site: one guy with an Amiga, another with his Sega Saturn.... By Richard Ryley on Tuesday, November 21, 2000 - 05:54 pm: By Lisa Shock on Tuesday, November 21, 2000 - 06:36 pm: Yep! That's Locke, with an aging but extremely professional video/image editing set-up. By Lisa Shock on Saturday, April 20, 2002 - 02:30 pm:
Looks like someone thought they were so cool, they had to steal them for their own site! By Lightning Tiger on Saturday, April 20, 2002 - 03:27 pm: When I came here, the spinning disks were there. D*** that Galooda. Hate people like that. Ehhh! By Khift on Saturday, April 20, 2002 - 03:44 pm: Gah, stupid freaks like that are the bane of the web. As for what you can do about them, there its next to impossible to stop them. If you tell them to put them down, they'll probably just use more of them.... By newdragon on Saturday, April 20, 2002 - 03:55 pm: i wouldnt worry too much. the galooda site isnt too good. this one is so much better... it isnt even funny. By Anonymous on Monday, June 23, 2003 - 05:06 pm: The only problem I have with the discs is that I can't tell what they are since thier so small. (Or it could be the fact that my vision sucks.) By Lisa Shock on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 01:07 pm:
In 800x600 screen resolution, they are over ¼ inch high. If your eyes are bad you may want to change your screen setting in Windows.
