Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher DS Archive (DS): Japanese DS Games Archive: Monster Farm DS 2: Monster Regeneration List : Pixie

i don't see pink princess (pixie/ogyo). my MRDS us version says she's #100 which contradicts what MRM's MFDS2 breeder list.

is this a change from the jap to the us versions?

By Thorr on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:07 pm:

It apparently is. Here is the gauge -

pixie/Pixie in Jap version is 100

Pixie/Pixie in US version is 99

The Pixie/Ogyo you are getting is in MRM database, but it is mislabeled as pixie/Abyss. The name OtoHime Would translate to Pink Princess in english.

Now I want to know which monster in the first 100 monsters was removed from the japanese version. This ought to be interesting.

It is between 57 and 80. My number 57 is the same as MFDS2, but 80 is still one off. I have nothing in between yet.

To note - There are 2 monsters missing in the US version. The monster book says 270, but the Japanese version says 272.

and US version #144 Tropimochi (mocchi/ogyo)

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:10 pm:

oh wow. thanks Thorr. i'll give it a look.

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:14 pm:

MRM database has it listed as:

#146 Tropical Mocchi (Mocchi/Abyss)

so thats 2 spaces off.

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:25 pm:

MRDS us ver.
#72 - Electieel (baku/lesione)
#81 - Fairy Hare (hare/pixie)

MFDS2 jap ver. (MRM Database)
#72 - Electieel (baku/lesione)
#82 - Fairy Hare (hare/pixie)

somewhere between those we're missing one.

Funky thing is -

Monster 221 is identical in both versions (Dragon/Beaklon)

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:33 pm:

MRDS us ver.
#127 - Mewco (Falco/Mew)
#133 - Dack Plant (plant/ducken)

MFDS2 jap ver. (MRM Database)
#128 - Yuzuko (Falco/Mew)
#135 - DuckPlant (plant/ducken)

and between those is the second. well it narrows it down, i'm still starting off. so i don't have all the monsters unlocked.

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:35 pm:

Thorr: really? that is weird. we need an ar code so we can get this straight.

By Jaco_Arcaneous on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 09:58 pm:

now thats interesting according to MRM database dragon has 3 "/???". i've found out you can get 1 from combining an impossible monster the "ish"'s and 1 from combining a "???" sub-type with any monster's main-type. but the third i don't know. is it one of the zodiac monsters?

By Thorr on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 10:01 pm:

It appears that one of the Special Baku was removed.

I have the Baku/Dragon 73 and the Hare/Golem 78

Baku is the same number, but the hare is 1 less. The only things left in the Japanese version are the 3 special Baku, Baku modoki, and pure Hare. Most likely, a special Baku is gone.

THis lead me to find another problem. When you generate monsters, the number shown is the original Japanese number, but the book number is different. When I generate Pixie, it shows on the screen as 100, but the monster book shows her at 99. Every Drawing I do shows the original number.

hmm that seems to suggest that ufo interative pulled a programing trick. the original data is still there but blocked by integrated coding inside the game. the baku sprites and all the info may still remain from the jp version but only accessible through debugging methods ie: a cheat device or save editor. right now nothing is around to check. i doubt they kept it as an unlockable feature. so when you regenerate it was something ufo interative overlooked.

It turns out that the monster list is 272 monsters whenever you are regenerating a monster. It's only in the encyclopedia that it says 270.
