I was fooling around with some equations earlier and thought of creating a end all spreadsheet for MR2 monsters.

Based on this data https://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/197977/41787. I have used beginning baseline stats as 1/5th of a score of 100, Lifespan as 2/5 and Stat gain totals as 2/5. I'm thinking about incorporating moves (# total with higher being a lower score), move power/accuracy, but I'd need all 999'd monsters to test this. What do you guys think? So far with my current computations,the top 10 monsters in order are. . .

Top ten in what?

I see breeds there that would lose quickly in a tournament.

Top ten in a composite of 1/5th average beginning stats, 2/5ths stat gains, and 2/5ths lifespan. My results are currently a little skewed because they're based on averages, but I removed monsters with average life below 490 weeks (based on that site) and below 15 composite stat gains. After I get input on what other grading criterion I should use I'll compile a complete list.

If I'm reading this correctly, then all your equations are based on stats and lifespan, and if that is correct then this is really the top 10 easiest monsters to raise or maybe max stats with, but Lisa's right, this means nothing for tournaments. To get a more "accurate" reading of an all around best monster the moves and guts regain are far more important to the equation, but those results would be ridiculously hard to compute just because of how subjective a "good" move is. Depending on the strategy I may prefer to use Pixie's Life Steal to her Big Bang, or if I'm not going for a K.O. then to get rid of the opponent's guts I might use Kiss. And that only scratches the surface of tourneys. Battle specials would certainly factor in, as well as the computer's aptitude for using the right moves when in control, natural form and ease in changing it to gain speed and defense boosts...
In short, this is an interesting list if I read it right, but mislabeled. A true "Top 10 Best" list is unlikely to ever be created that is uniformly agreed on.

I have to agree here. This just demonstrates why I generally do not recommend a breed what someone asks me what the best monster is for them to raise.

And, tech selection is really different for our online tourneys because we let the computer run the match and it selects techs pretty randomly. -So many times we have seen Pixies just Pat, Pat, Pat their way through a tourney.
