Guide to tech selection

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 3 Archive (PS2): Techs, Bits, Stones, & Orbs: Guide to tech selection
This guide is designed to assist ranchers in tech selection. I will add more to the guide as more experience and knowledge of the techs of different monsters is gained.

The different types of techs

BLS (Blue Light Special) Tech: All BLS techs have one thing in common, cost very little guts, and their effectiveness usually reflects their "cheapness". I consider techs that cost 20 guts and down to be BLS techs. Now most of these techs aren't worth your time, but a few aren't that bad. Example: Suzurin's Pokorin.

Rational Tech: This is a tech that does decent damage and has pretty good accuracy, while not sucking up all of your monster's guts. I consider a tech with 20+ damage, and 50+ hit, while costing between 20 and 35 guts. These are the best techs in my opinion. Example: Hengar's Force Bomber.

Vacuum Tech: I generally do not like techs that suck up guts, but there are a few that are worth it. I refer to these techs as vacuums because they take up a lot of guts. vacuum techs are not all neccissarily high risk, because some of them have high enough accuracy to be considered reliable. A vacuum tech costs 40+ guts. I only recommend this type of tech, if it does 30+ damage and has 50+ hit, otherwise, i don't feel they are worth it. Example: Lesione's Tsunami.

High Risk Tech: These techs can make or break a battle. If the tech hits, it will do some serious damage, but if it misses, (which is likely) your monster will have waisted a lot of guts. A high risk tech causes major damage, and costs major guts, but the downside is, it has poor accuracy. I do not recommend this type of tech! Example: Durahan's Heavan Bolt.
