Dessert problems

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 3 Archive (PS2): Locales: Takrama (Desert): Dessert problems

I have two questions, first, it is extremely difficult when i try to train a monster in Takrama to get them to evolve in to that breed, because many of the monsters i have tried this with, HATE peppers. So when i feed it a pepper the training goes from normal to harder and so on, and then my monster gets stressed out easily. After feeding it a pepper i tried feeding them a food it likes, such as black oyster, but it doesnt really work. I don't no how to solve this problem. I'm open to any suggestions.

My other question concerns monsters that list "present" for what the monster likes. What does it mean by present? does it mean food? accessories?

Very few breeds like the peppers, sorry. I try to make up for it by resting a bit more often. The foods relieve stress & fatigue, and so does resting. I have found myself with simply lowered expectations for my monster if I am trying for the desert breed.

As for liking "present" that's a tough one, right now, we don't have a clear answer as to what it does. He probably would appreciate monster nip once in a while, if liked. Actually, feeding items they seem to like is not harmful, and may help.

Don't feel bad, TigerBubble. My Pteraden was selected as the candidate to evolve in the Takrama region, and he LOVED the "Pepper," though it was the least nutritious food. Sadly, mine didn't evolve, either, no matter how many times I tried the entire month again. As Lisa states in the FAQ, "some monsters just will not evolve." Yet, I digress.

As an answer to your question, you may be willing to try a Pteraden from the MR2 disc stone. I'm not sure if likes/dislikes change with each shrining, but if so just keep resetting until you get one that works for you. Mine thought "Pepper" was candy, so it had nothing against eating them. Sadly, I can't guarantee evolution will occur with this monster.
