Alright, I've opened this section back up for discussion, for now at least, since I have no idea what a lot of these do. Any ideas?

I suspect that Stun might make it a lot harder to dodge attacks, since I noticed that after I managed to "stun" an opponent with one of my skills, I almost always hit whenever I attacked while the other monster was stunned, but it's not conclusive. Any other observations on these?

It seems to me that your attacks are more powerful when the opponent is dizzy. Several times my attacks have had double the damage when the opponent was dizzy (and they were not critical hits).

*sigh* I'll go ahead and mention a few ideas, but I'm not really sure where they might fit in just yet.

Ideas of what the different 'status effects' (dizzy, etc.) might do:

Decrease the victims accuracy (hit%)
Decrease the victims SPD (evasion)
Decrease the victims DEF (defense)
Decrease the victims speed (guts regen)

It would be really nice to know because let's say that 'dizzy' makes the opponenet easier to hit. If this were true and I 'dizzied' my opponenent I would want to attack immidiately when he was still 'dizzy'.

However, if 'dizzy' reduces his accuracy then I would want to hold off attacking to get the most out of the ability (he would have lower acuraccy for longer this way becacuse I would not end the effect right away with an attack).

I should point out also that quite a few effects seem to wear off once the victim is hit/attacks.

I know for a fact Dizzy reduces accuracy. If you or your opponents get dizzy..look at your accuracy bar, it goes down alittle.

Side note. Stun makes your monster hit the other monster easier by just alittle.

Things I beleive:

Dizzy - Victim's Accuracy bar drops, Attacker's Accuracy bar rises (I beleive I saw it do this lots of times, but it could just be guts regeneration boosting Accuracy)

Shaken - Victim's Accuracy Bar drops

Guard - Damage is reduced (I don't know how much or for how long)

Havent had much time to experiment with much affects in battle, mainly dizzy and sakey... but i have noticed its a bit easier to hit a dizzy opponent... and possible more damage or better chance of a crit...

The Pixie's Jade Orb technique gives the skill Element Guard, which when successful, gives the trait of "Dispair" (sic) to the Pixie (it's spelled correctly in the monster data screens, but not in actual battle). I'm guessing that it makes the Pixie harder to hit.

By Kakurine on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 - 11:39 pm:

The Pixie's Jade Orb indeed gives you Element Guard. What it does is it lowers elemental damages. One of the big 5's boss (radiance) uses this spell.

Basically it just lowers your life, heart, earth, lightning attacks, etc... it's not like Guard.

Hmmm, i'm quoting Lisa here, and i have been known to misquote or get confused, so don't beleive this until she backs it up, but the other day in the chat room, she said that "Shaken" is really "Shrunken," and it got mistranslated from monster farm 3, (You can see the monster shrink a little when it takes effect) and it decreases the afflicted monsters power. Right, Lisa?

By Crystal Pixie on Saturday, October 6, 2001 - 04:20 am:

That's what I thought. It does shrink and that's what I think of when I see the word "Shaken."
