So my Monster Rancher DS game has gotten to where it freezes randomly for no apparent reason--has anybody noticed this occurring with their games? It's frozen during battle when both monsters had their abilities activated and one tried to attack. (Did this twice)

It's frozen multiple times on the text spells--seems to be something with my scribbling one quarter of the box black. It's frozen several times after I closed my DSiXL and opened it back up. And just a moment ago it froze when I was about to train my monster.

Which leads to the other question--if you save while having say, an Encyclopedia Phoenix out, freeze the phoenix and revive another monster, and the game freezes then, does the reset penalty deduct from the monster that out last save (Phoenix) or the monster revived afterward?

I figured so, but when I checked my 999 stat Bluzzard and Dandelion for combination afterward, the parameter arrow was only going up a little bit, and the potential arrow was going up (the bluzzard is a double galaxy and the dandelion is a giant galaxy) I saved while raising a standard phoenix, but I had been raising my Dandelion a little more after having acquired a gold peach.

Well, I suppose I could try playing it on my other DS. I haven't noticed any of my other DS games freezing randomly, but then again, I haven't played them as much.

That's a good idea, that'll let you know for sure if it's your cartridge or your ds.

Well I've been playing it on DSi and it seems to be working fine. In a way I'm glad it's not my monster rancher card, but at the same time, DSI XL's are expensive. Wish my DSiXL had done this before the warranty expired...

regardless, I've been thinking...is there a penalty for freezing monsters? I've noticed that monsters I get out of the freezer usually have dulled "Wits" but it could just be that I'm not noticing how hard I'm knocking the sense out of my monsters, lol.
