AP?

So, how exactly does the whole "AP" thing work?...I'm sorry to ask, but I'm too scared to try resetting it until I know, lol.

By XxRisonxX on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 03:49 pm:

The way I understand it, nearly every positive action grants you AP. Excellent training, winning tournaments, etc. And resetting your game you lose a big chunk of those hard earned AP. Resetting really isn't worth it in almost every scenario.

By Swezlon Uno on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 08:09 pm:

Does it just affect the monster you're currently raising, or every monster in your possesion?

By GM on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 10:33 pm:

Each monster has its own AP. The more AP a monster gets in its lifetime, the better the combination results. Resetting causes your monster to lose months worth of AP.

Combine two monsters with lots of AP during their prime for best results. High rank and loyalty help, too.

Thanks, I feel a bit better about resetting then. (For expedition monsters and moneymakers past their prime, and whatnot XD)

Heh. I just accidently reset mine after realizing after loading it I didn't have time to play. So I just turned it off like I would any other game. Whoops. x.x I was raising that one for combining.

We still dont know if monsters in the freezer get the penalty or not do we?

By HappyHippo123 on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 02:31 pm:

Im 99% sure that they do not, both the person on gamefaqs that was hacking values in the game indicated he didnt think it did. And also having used this method 10 times in a row to finally get the naga battle done my monster still has great breeding potential.

That's good news.

I posted something in the thread "Working Around AP" in The Cafe section (https://legendcup.com/MRM/discus/index.html) about this.

I've used the freeze and save method for raising monsters and my second generation monster (double galaxy) lived up to his potential ratings (he beat the Four Kings tournaments and the Big Bang Tournament).

To me, that means that either AP may not be as damaging as previously though or that the freeze and save method skips the AP reduction.

Just for fun, I'll combine that second generation monster with a first generation monster (this monster has been frozen and saved many times as well) and see what I get:

Parent 1:
-2nd Gen. Joker/Joker (Double Galaxy)
Pow 674
Int 743
Ski 760
Spd 666
Def 730
Lif 934

Parent 2:
-1st Gen. Abyss/Gali (Sun) [I used the Gali in the combo]
Pow 424
Int 821
Ski 449
Spd 500
Def 372
Lif 539

Combination Ratings:

Pow: Star
Int: Star
Ski: Star
Spd: Star
Def: Star
Lif: Star
GRvoc: X
Move: X
Lspan: Star
Constant

Potential: Up
Parameters: Even
Chem: Double circle

I threw in the Hengar item to give it a better lifespan and got this combo:

Hengar/Hengar (Highest Galaxy rating)
Pow 203
Int 308
Ski 264
Spd 229
Def 226
Lif 261

The offspring's starting stats (1491 total) are nearly half of one its parents (Abyss/Gali was 3105).

If this is what a monster combination looks like after some serious AP damage, then I don't even mind taking the AP hits, because this Hengar still has great stats.

Anyone experimenting with this more?

Since I made a new game I have some data to share.

My first two monsters were both book-level
monsters that I raised to A-rank without a single
reset. They were both old when I froze them.

After freezing the second monster I took out my
"combo" monster (the monster I use to combine with
book-level monsters just to unlock monster breeds
for my encyclopedia) and saved the game.

I have since then loaded the game and combined the
monsters that I have frozen several times. The
results for the Offspring have been consistent.

More evidence that the monsters you have frozen
are not affected by AP loss due to
restarts. J
