Last Battle with Holly, and her Golem looked a little bit bigger then mine...I also noticed after battles it sometimes says "I think ___ grew a little bit!" Do monsters actually increase in size or am I a wishful thinker?

I think when Cleo says that she is talking about the monster's stats rising.
