Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher DS Archive (DS): Monster Rancher DS: General QA: Learning Techs Can Be Random By Lisa Shock on Friday, August 6, 2010 - 06:31 pm:
I just started my game, and my first monster failed its first week of training. (Pound, to be precise.) After asking if I wanted to scold or not, I was told that he had learned a new tech! By VenomousX on Friday, August 6, 2010 - 06:53 pm: Didn't happen to me on week one, so that's pretty cool. My monster is 2 years old and I haven't learned any techs on regular training, just on "drills" By Dragon Trainer on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 06:30 am: yeah same here...so far the only techs my monster has learned has been through drills.. By Kori on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 02:25 pm:
I think it may be random, my Mew failed training and By VenomousX on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 02:27 pm: Hm, I wonder if it only happens after a scolding then? By VenomousX on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 04:06 pm: My monster just learned a new technique after losing a tournament and getting lectured for it. It definitely seems to have some to do with failing/getting scolded, oddly enough. By 321228322 on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 04:44 pm:
I only ever got techs with errantry. By Thorr on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 06:14 pm:
There is a chance for monster to learn techs when the Discipline is in a certain range and their Wits are in a certain range. However, every technique can be learned from a specific Drill. By Thorr on Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 06:20 pm:
Here is the format I used previously - By VenomousX on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 06:39 am: So you want us to post charts like the Pixie one you showed (once we have a monster that knows all it's moves I assume) so that you know the english names for sure right? Then you can input where to get the techs? By Thorr on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 07:46 am:
Correct. If you leave the space open for the Expedition location, I can go back and fill them in. By Thorr on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 08:58 am:
I have a good sample up - Tiger. It can be found in - By VenomousX on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 09:22 am: Alright I'll try to finish up learning Beaclon's moves before posting it. I only have 2 more to learn. On that note Beaclon is spelled with a C not a K in this game, there's several typos in the info posts with this. By VenomousX on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 10:04 am:
On second thought, my Beaclon retired before I could learn the last tech. So I just posted what I had so far, I'll be training another one trying to get the last tech though :) By Thorr on Sunday, August 8, 2010 - 10:24 am:
No problem. I really just need the name since I have all the other data. That last tech is found in the Volcano... By Sillygoth on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 07:57 am:
I had an odd one occur...my Jailkeeper had By Signtist on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 08:04 am: Yeah, that's happened to me too. Each of the monsters I've trained has learned a skill from "inspiration," some of which had never truly failed at anything at the time. I think it really is just random and they just put it in there assuming that you would have failed at least once before it occurred. I believe that they put this feature in to make up for the fact that if you turn the game off, your monsters become practically useless for breeding, as a lot of people, myself included, have shown disapproval towards that decision. By Rahu on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 03:29 pm: Wait, what happens if you turn the game off? By Thorr on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 03:37 pm: Read the thread called "The hidden Parameter" in the MFDS2 section. By Rahu on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 05:27 pm: Ah! Yeesh this game really took the DP method personally didn't it! By Thorr on Monday, August 9, 2010 - 06:38 pm: I think it's more about discouraging the players from simply resetting the game when a tourney doesn't go their way. By Sillygoth on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 - 01:53 am:
And honestly, I like that. By all means, I'm a fan By Rahu on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 - 06:03 am: I've made my peace with it. Every so often I lose a match because I miss every attack with a 60-70% hit rate but oh well. By Sillygoth on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 - 12:25 am:
Rahu-That happens to the best of us. Just like By marhawkman on Sunday, November 14, 2010 - 11:44 am:
Pixie gets Ray Cast and Starlight from the Gupuka beach. Starshower is from Erips ice ridge. one of the midrange moves is learned in the woods. Dendron and Trigonon have the physical moves. |
