Unique Traits

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher DS Archive (DS): Japanese DS Games Archive: Monster Farm DS: Misc. Q&A (post all new topics here, we'll make more sections later): Unique Traits
By Thorr on Friday, October 12, 2007 - 06:08 am:

The guide has a small section on page 10 at the bottom that says "How to get unique traits".

There are 3 traits it lists and how to get them. I'll start by listing the traits and then add how they are acquired as I figure out the words...

1) Glass Heart
2) Elite
3) Unbeatable Champion (might be indomitable spirit, but the requirements look like Champion is better suited)

By Thorr on Friday, October 12, 2007 - 08:07 am:

3) is definitely Indomitable Will

The requirements are hard to translate, but it look you need to -
1)Fail a training (appears to be INT training (Shugyo))
2)After failing the training, finish 3rd or lower in a tournament.
3) Must have high Sensitivity.

The result will be getting Indomitable Will, which will increase your success rate (unsure if in battle or in training).

2) Elite

It appears you have to win 4 WIFI or Local battles with one monster.

1) Glass Heart

It appears you need to win 3 WIFI or Local Battles with one monster.

Interesting.

Does the book provide descriptions as to what they do?

By Thorr on Friday, October 12, 2007 - 09:32 am:

Heh, yeah, but I forgot add them.

1) Glass Heart - Sensitivity becomes easier to raise
2) Elite - Seems to be a better version of Glass Heart
3) Indomitable Spirit - Increases success rate (again unsure if this refers to success in battle or success in training)

By GM on Friday, October 12, 2007 - 09:38 am:

Well, that's nice. I wonder exactly what makes sensitivity so
important?

Are there lists with other traits and their descriptions, too?

By Thorr on Friday, October 12, 2007 - 10:12 am:

Sensitivity seems to affect stat gains and gaining techniques. Higher sensitivity appears to indicate that the monster can learn better.

Yes, there are lists of traits, but the purpose of this thread was to highlight the traits that can only be acquired via special means.

By GM on Saturday, October 13, 2007 - 07:38 am:

Ah, splendid. I was just checking.

Sensitivity certainly does sound important, to be sure. I assume
they don't elaborate too much on it?

It looks like they talk a lot about it, but it's solid text which makes it hard to attempt translation. There's so much I want to do, but can only do it slowly, so I get spread too thin. I still have to do the item list, then the traits list, etc...

The book divides the regeneration lists into groups. I have already posted the first group which consists of Drawings. The Second group is Spoken words. They list a japanese word for just about every monster. The third group is GBA games, of which there are only 2 (which I listed elsewhere).

Most of the drawings are working so far, but some of them I just can't seem to get right. The words are also working as long as I am careful about the diction. The list of spoken words should be easy to post. Unfortunately, I don't have the Japanese versions of MRA and MRA2. This blows because I -really- want a Cinder Bird. Ah well.

I will get content posted as I have time to invest in the translation.
