Just out of curiosity, what's your starting monster in this game?
Or do you even have one, like you don't in MR3?

(i.e. MR4 was Garu, MR5 Piroro, etc...)

Like every other handheld version, you generate your first monster.

Really? I thought I remembered them giving you something
automatically in MRA and MRA2. Oh well, must not have played
in a while.
