I'm puzzled by a dialogue in the game that occurs when Dr. Talico invites you to the Kawrea expedition in MR2. The text goes:

Dr. Talico: I'm thinking about going to Kawrea again. Can you come with me again?
Colt: Well... let me ask. What do you think, Quincunx? Can we go? [Yes]
Dr. Talico: Thank you. Let's all go again. And then...
Colt: [Makes impatient or angry face] Then, "Let's go!", right? All right. Well, Quincunx, I'm leaving now.

Am I missing something here? I'm trying to figure out the "And then..." "Then, "Let's go!", right?" part. Is there some sort of undertone here? I'm thinking there's something here that either made sense in the original Japanese version and didn't translate well, or that something was taken out.

What could Dr. Talico have been about to say? And why does Colt respond that way? This puzzles me every time I see it. Is Colt just being impudent? Or is there something more to this?

(If the answer is a spoiler to a future event in the game, just say so, and I'll wait with bated breath until I come across it.)

if there is a future event coming up, i am still waiting for it 450 yrs into the game. i dont think there are any spoilers here.

fwiw, i think this is just an attempt to convey colt's ambivalent attitude towards dr talico. after all, she hates ka-kavaro, and loves rovest - and that is mighty clear in her reactions towards them. ambivalence is harder to portray, and even harder to translate.

any other theories out there?

How about exasperation? She respects him as an explorer and researcher, but he does tend to repeat himself.

OK... maybe I was trying to read between the lines when there was nothing there. I guess I was expecting some sort of "I am your father, Luke" moment.

well, there is one such moment [nothing that dramatic, though] at yr 100 - which didnt even take place in my game!

i am still trying to get over that glitch, obviously.

Hmm.. well, maybe I'll find out in 63 years. «grin»
