Bigger = Better?

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 2 Archive (PSOne): Items: Bigger = Better?

This is just something that I have been kicking around in my head. In MR2 some of the best stuff sells for cheap yet worse stuff goes for a better price.

an example is the peaches.
Gold Peach = $4000 *I hope that is correct*
Silver Peach = $4500

While the gold gives much better results it sells for less, A theory is that the Silver is harder to get than the gold there by creating a more sought after item. *I normaly sell extra gold peaches for $*

I was wondering what you guys thought about this and what other stuff like this you have seen.

Actually, I always thought that the reason the SPs sold for more (I thought it was 5K?) was because of the fact that you couldn't find them, they had to be won and your monster had to live past 6.3yrs in order to access the tourney, which is seen as being slightly more difficult to the beginner than a potluck found on expedition.
