A few weeks ago, Torey and I made a discovery, and we'd like your help in confirming the data. What we did was take a CD and make a monster with it in MR1, note the stats, freeze it right away, then slate it in MR2 and compare it with the stats and monster made by shrining in MR2. What we found was that the slated monsters had higher stats when slated than their MR2 shrine counterparts. Of course, since they were usually completely different types of monster, the ratios would be different too - but the composite stats were always higher. Anyone willing to run a few CDs and check this would help us confirm the trend.

If you want to add to our study please post the following, in a table:
CD Title Info
Monster made in MR1
Stats in MR1 with composite total Stats when shrined
Monster made when slated
Stats when slated
Monster type from MR2 shrine
Stats from MR2 Shrine

well, here is one thing i can report. out of 500+ cds, only 106 of my mr2 cds could have existed in mr1. the rest have some sort of main or sub which wasnt possible in mr1. out of this 106, only 3 have the same main type. this seems totally dispropirtional; i wonder if there was some sort of selection process differentiation between the two games to make sure that the overwhelming majority of discs made entirely different monsters in the two games.

Kind of like how Tigers and Worms were soooooo common in MR1, but hard-to-find in MR2. Anyway, anyone with CDs that make the same main breed in both games are invited to post the subcode in teh Laboratory, in the MR2 subcode area for "Hard-To-Find" monsters.
