These are not a hoax, as a matter of fact. They are an item that was taken out of (or locked into, as the case may be) the U.S. version. It is one of those objects that your monster asks for, like matches, grease, polish, silk cloth, etc. etc. They are asked for by katos, and probably reduce a small amount (as in 1 or 2 points) of stress. |
