Hi guys. This is something I've noticed myself, and it's why I don't battle/errantry my monsters much when they're young...
It seems to me, from experience, that in a battle, if my monster is full grown, it takes less damage when hit than if it's adolescent or a child. It also seems to do less damage. I say this meaning relatively. Here's what I mean:
Durahan, has 300 DEF and 300 POW. Now let's assume, that for some SCREWY reason, I'm not building it's POW or DEF at all until it grows up. Taking the same attack, we'll use "Rush Slash," across the age lines, it seems that he does less damage the smaller he is, against the same opponents (we'll pick on Oakleyman, since we all hate him):
Now, I haven't done -extensive- research on this at all, but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this at all, as it seems to be a consistent trend... which is why I've migrated to making my monsters only fight/errantry once each when adolescent and not at all when a baby. I have noticed that age DOES directly affect ability on errantries, though, and babies frequently fail, which may (or may not, ya never know) raise stress more than even normal stress boosts on errantry.
Yes, When I take my S-Class monsters and fight them against the E-Class monster the damage doneis not nearly as much as it is to the S-Class monsters. I guess it is a way to 'handicap' the really good monsters.
Another thing no matter how much damage you do to your opponent they never get injured. Has anyone else ever noticed this? I think that is extremly unfair! I want to KO Ordorf!
But then again if they get injured it hurts you! Because if you end up tied with a monster in the end of the battle the monster you would have injured may have beat the monster and caused you to win the match without an extra fight! So in a way it's good and in another way its bad. *._\
