Dadge says "good" but should say "Great"

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 2 Archive (PSOne): Miscellaneous Q&A (Post New Questions Here): Dadge says "good" but should say "Great"
By Radagast the Brown on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - 03:58 am:

So here's my problem... I'm breeding a Zuum/Gali (3/3/3/4/3/3) and Henger/Golem (2/4/3/3/3/3), trying to make an Omega: Henger/Zuum.

Zuum/Gali
Lif: 376 x 1 = 376
Pow: 610 x 1 = 610
Int: 534 x 1 = 534
Ski: 457 x 1.5 = 686
Spd: 688 x 1 = 688
Def: 416 x 1 = 416

That makes him Spd/Ski/Pow/Int/Def/Lif.

Henger/Golem
Lif: 284 x .5 = 124
Pow: 260 x 1.5 = 390
Int: 388 x 1 = 388
Ski: 392 x 1 = 392
Spd: 552 x 1 = 552
Def: 271 x 1 = 271

Which makes him Spd/Ski/Pow/Int/Def/Lif

Omega base stat order is also Spd/Ski/Pow/Int/Def/Lif, so I was really excited about something good coming out (I'm not ACTUALLY breeding yet, I still have years of life left in the Henger, I was just checking the outcome because these are my first 2 monsters, and my first ever combo).

Shouldn't Dadge call this "great"? He says its only "good" though!!!!

Update: I trained the Henger/Golems def up to 286, which is just 2 higher than the uncorrected Lif value. This made Dadge say "great". Are the Henger/Golems stat gains possibly wrong? it seems like they are actually 3/4/3/3/3/3

I'm facing something similar. I don't know if I just assume that it's correct as I've mindlessly
looked over it now more times than I care to count, but this theoretically should be a Great
combination shouldn't it? I realise I'm just roughly rounding some numbers to their appropriate
levels, but based on the differences between them there should be no effect.

Hare/Tiger - Base stat order: Spd/Skl/Pow/Lif/Int/Def

Lif: 418 Gain: 3
Pow: 999 Gain: 4
Int: 100 Gain: 2
Skl: 700 Gain: 4
Spd: 999 Gain: 5
Def: 100 Gain: 1
-----
Ducken/Ducken - Base stat order: Skl/Int/Spd/Pow/Lif/Def

Lif: 538 Gain: 3
Pow: 730 Gain: 3
Int: 350 Gain: 3
Skl: 661 Gain: 4 (This intentionally falls just short of 999)
Spd: 999 Gain: 5
Def: 300 Gain: 1

Further Update!!: So, my henger/golem appears to be in stage 6. His Domino (light str) gains between 10-13, and most of his other stat gains fall in line.

Two issues I've noticed:
1st (minorish): His Pull can still net him 20 str on success. From the Statgains, I thought it should only go between 18-19. I assume that the statgain numbers are actually something like 19-22, and actually gain just get caps to 20, which would solve this problem.

2nd (bigger issue)!!: His Endure (light def) drill gains between 5-8. That seems like gain stat of 2, not 3 as is listed for him. If his stat gains were, in fact 2/4/3/3/3/2, that would answer what caused my first issue as well.

@Elf.

That is wierd. it shouldnt matter about int/def for the hair because of how the correcting process works. but have you tried getting the def higher than int on the hare to see if it makes the combination better or worse?

Just fiddle around a bit.

After correcting:

Hare/Tiger - SPD/SKI/POW/LIF/INT/DEF
Ducken/Ducken - SPD/SKI/POW/LIF/INT/DEF

It should be a great combo

Aah, good, it's nice to know I'm not missing something. My only issue now is that he has 2 more weeks
of life left in him before death, and is the only monster I currently have who can go in the Elder's
cup (I already fed him the gold peach). But I suppose I may as well try that out once I get to a
position where I can.

By mean2you on Monday, March 14, 2011 - 11:48 pm:

Can you feed him a MB then battle the elders cup then freeze?

I never use gold peaches on 1st gen, but i feed all my monsters silver peaches.

By Elf* on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 - 04:26 am:

Battle makes it lose 3 weeks + the 1 it'd lose anyway, so feeding an MB would only give it 3 weeks of
life out of the necessary 4.
