Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 4 Archive (PS2): Research on game mechanics: Phoenix Lifespan Tests By Harrabcat on Saturday, January 31, 2004 - 07:25 pm:
Ok I have now completed the Phoenix lifespan tests. Here you go.
Ok heres the phoenix's and i put the pixies T6-T10 for comparative purposes
As you can (or cannot) see the phoenices lived much less then the pixies. I'll get to doing more analysis a little later. I also fixed the data for the pixies in this post and the phoenices data is right I swear :) Any Questions, comments, or the likewise? By Harrabcat on Saturday, January 31, 2004 - 08:38 pm:
Ok Heres some analysis of this data.
Ok Heres how long each stage was (in weeks)
Heres how much of the Phoenix/Pixies lifespan was in each stage (in percent)
Ok theres the data(sorry for any mistakes in the data if there is any.) I'd like to thank Toreyluvullo and Silveriusome for helping me do the math. Any Questions, comments, or the likewise? By CHB on Saturday, January 31, 2004 - 09:17 pm:
I'd have to double check the mathematics, when I get the time. By CHB on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 01:13 am: Looks good by my calculations. I am impressed with your efforts on this and congratulate you again. As soon as I have my PS2, I'll begin assisting more than just double checking math conversions. :P By torey luvullo on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 07:27 am:
yes - very interesting start. this could mean that the stages of mr4 monsters lives are more uniform [like mr3 was] than different [like mr2 was]. or it could just mean that you stumbled on two monsters of a similar pattern to begin the research, and there might be differences, if different breeds are examined. in that regard, we noted that these are monsters from two different "groups", pixie being a sprite and phoenix being a spirit. Phoenixs are a good start for a base monster life span, since they have only one /? breed, and no subs to effect life. They are a good breed to test the effects of stress, food, injury, and battles strain of life span with. By Harrabcat on Sunday, February 1, 2004 - 09:34 pm:

Ok, I'm looking at those baby monsters and they make pretty good starting monsters. In fact, they seem as good as the babies I get from combinations of fully raised monsters. As anyone with experience on combos ever do better than those babies?
