Something neat happened to me yesterday.
I may, repeat MAY have gotten two traits from one item.
Combo- two JeetKuneDo untrained
Item- Def Charm
Result a baby with both Ironhart and Glasshart.

I didn't retry after I got it I want to train this baby and see if having the two together will be significant.

Also I plant to begin using some of the stat boost items to test how they are effected by different combos. The interesting fact about MRA2 is that the item seems to base its bonus on the statgain pattern for one or both of the parents. Once I have one each of the Stones, I will begin by making up certain test combos
