While shrining a few words today, I had something wierd happen. Using two different words, I created exactly the same monster with exactly the same stats and traits.
Password: Charlie Monster: Golem Stats: 192/74/89/53/138/122 Traits: Rock Skin
Password: Henke Monster: Golem Stats: 192/74/89/53/138/122 Traits: Rock Skin
A few quick observations - 7 letters in the first, 5 letters in the second, only two letters are the same in either word (H & E) and NONE are in the same position in the words.
This post is just for those that like to try to figure out how the Shrine works.

This is another one of those phenomena that I've seen but not noticed if you get my drift. It's a good thing to note though.
The one fairly consistent password "rule" we have so far is that a first letter shift will let you test for many breeds in the same register, so to speak. Thus you see several variations on Chilly (Thilly, xhilly) to get different Legends in the same slot (3rd).

I(rather GoldenBoy noticed...see Passwords and legends) have noticed that by switching the first letter of a word you switch the main breed. Also, by switching the last letter of a word you switch the sub breed. Ex. Start word:exodia=Truenos(Pixie/Special) Last letter switch:exodio=Angel(Pixie/Gali) First letter switch:Qxodia=White Mew(Mew/Special) However, I've noticed that to succeed in this you have to have the proper start word.
However

Oops! One to many howevers and according to what GoldenBoy says it was Bethegus who figured it out. Sorry about that.

This has been rattling around in the back of my head, so I shrined up John's Golems and learned something.
They aren't identical. One is Brave, the other is Normal
Everything else is the same, Likes, Dislikes, Techs, etc. It occured to me that there would be some difference, but that it might be invisible unless you kept the monster and examined it fully.
This was a good post, it reminds us that identical monsters aren't always. More often in the future I plan to take some monsters home before I decide which password is better.

Also, yet one more point about Nature. That it is random. Shrine the same monster three times and you may get three different Natures. I have an Allure that is Lazy, but the next time I used that password the Allure produced was Normal. So differing Natures doesn't prove or disprove this strange event... yet.

I've noticed something in passwords that may or may not be new(I haven't seen it anywhere so here it is if it's new). We all know that if you change the first letter of a password you sometimes change the main breed. Now I have noticed a trend in particular traits that stay when you only change the first letter. EX: ~star~ gets you a Pantheon with expert (posted by Diamiond) and 0star~ (zero not O) gets you a Tiger with expert etc.

Mabye there is a code used by the creators based on an anchient theory that states everything in the universe is based on mathemtics in other words password could be algebraic expressions each letter and number being a specific trait to the monster being created so we would have to be creators of the game to under stand it.
By Kingcobra930 on Friday, February 28, 2003 - 01:01 pm:
Oh yeah I forgot you could also be the game to under stand it

No need for a snotty answer KingCobra, if there is a logical breakdown to the password system, then it is worth working on.

Sorry for that I didn't mean for it to be snotty

i have an idea on how to get all passwords but i need some help because it is going to be very time consuming im sure some one has thought of it and already started it but i have not seen it any where all volenters chose a letter/number/symbol for a first position on a tablet and try every possible combinataion with that letter, number or symbol staying in first position. im going to start with (A). like i said very time consuming so any help will be appreciated. please post where you will start so that no wastes time doing the same one as someone else.
By GoldenBoy on Monday, March 3, 2003 - 03:55 pm:
ummm no?
Standard procedure once we have a likely password is to work through all the first chars for that variation. It's quicker trust me. Besides we already have all but 8 passwords. I'll bump my password hunting post so you can look for good tips there. If you have any questions post them there.

I found a rather interesting password MOO*DUDE(The star is any character/symbol). All characters/symbols give you a pure Gali but the stats vary, I wasn't watching the traits but maybe some had some. Also...RAT~~MAX no matter what letter you put for the R you get a Sylvanian, and you can change RAT to anything but always get a Mew,for example GGG~~MAX gets a Mochmew. I don't know if this helps any but it's an interesting little fact.

Just like Lava? Lavan (Lava) 99Lava All create volcanos...
By marhawkman on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 - 07:06 pm:
Hmm. This is strange. I've noticed something similar with 99%POWER. It keeps giving me Truenos no matter what I change the first letter to.
By marhawkman on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 - 07:07 pm:
Um that and getting identical stats occasionally isn't common, but I've seen it rather often in my research.
By marhawkman on Thursday, March 18, 2004 - 06:15 am:
Okay. I did more testing. What Moonmonster said is true. It appears to be true for ALL pre-set passwords, though. It still doesn't explain why I can't mutate 99%POWER though.
